It could be door lock related by the sound of it, although you would need an engineer with the correct test equipment to check this properly.
If you are going to have a look yourself, please ensure the appliance is disconnected from the power supply by unplugging completely.

Thanks dave,
I actually have an extended warranty but D & G can not send anyone for at least two weeks.
Obviously can not wait that long so looks like I am going to have to have a nose around, I will of course ensure all power is off beforhandThanks again

It’s a shame that your extended warranty repair can’t be attended to promptly.
D&G are a very good insurer on the whole and many of us Independant repairers here work on behalf of them with little or no problems.
As you have an Indesit, Merloni themselves provide the service for their own appliances under this cover, perhaps a phone call to D&G to request one of ther Independant network to attend would be in order ?
Let us know how you get on please.

Dave,
I have tried everything, calling them asking if even if I can locate a qualified engineer or even to pay the engineer the extra out of hours costs but they are not having any of it apparently all the london based engineers are on a training course so the earliest is mid july which to be truthful I find pretty poor. D & G did say I could get an engineer and they would cover some expense, I called a reputable company who sent an engineer this morning, (claimed to have extensive knowledge of Indesit)he took a look, scratched his head and said could be the circuit board , cant help took my 40 quid and away he went.
Since then I have been dabbling (dont know anything) but did get it to work on a rinse program it went about 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the way and then the program switch just went round and round and round
the plot thickens……….

Sorry if it’s obvious but have you checked the filter for coins, fluff etc ?

I did and got almost 2 quid lol but it still never worked, then I checked the pump again even took it apart.
after browsing through this site I learned where the Brushes were, didnt know what I was doing but gave them a clean with a piece of kitchen towel and hey presto its working now fingers crossed !
Im so delighted and have learnt something new
I will still keep the appointment with D & G and let them give it a real once overThanks for all your help and advice it was greatly appreciated.

Yay 😀
Glad you found a solution, hopefuly anyway.
Be careful with the engineer’s appoinment though, a “no fault found” call will not be accepted on an invoice neither will a general check over. If it’s still working closer to the appointment I would recommend cancelling it.
Dave.
