indesit wd12uk fault code 3 flashes

replaced burnt out control module on this machine now it is showing error code 3 anyone any suggestions?

Check that the temperature sensor is in circuit and giving a reading in Kohms. Also check for correct positionong on new circuit board.

Pull the plug first :plug: .

FOUND THE PROBLEM WITH THE NEW BOARD TOOK IT OUT TO INSPECT AS CHECKED THE SENSOR AND WAS OK,WHILE LOOKING AT THE BOARD NOTICED THE NEW BOARD HAD AN IC HOLDER BUT NO IC IN IT DESOLDERED THE ONE FROM THE OLD BOARD PUT IT IN THE NEW BOARD AND IT WORKED.QUESTION IS DO THESE CONTROL BOARDS ALWAYS COME WITHOUT THIS IC,USED TO SERVICE WHITE GOODS 10 YEARS AGO SO MACHINES HAVE OBVIOUSLY CHANGED ALOT SINCE THEN,THIS WAS DONE AS A FAVOUR FOR A FRIEND BUT I PRESUMED WHEN I ORDERED A NEW CONTROL MODULE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETE AND JUST A STRAIGHT SWAP

Ah, yes, the EPROM……. Don’t tell you that do they? No little service sheet to say “Swap the EPROM over”.

That’s The Indesit Company for you…………….

Latest machines now come with very small surface mounted eprom. If you order a new module it will come with a socket for the standard size eprom, which you will have to order as an extra 😕 Same on the new Hotpoints.
