    Indesit WD12X integrated washer drier.
Fitted a wash heater last week to this machine and customer has been using it on 40 deg cycles since and all has been OK. Rang this morning panicking – machine was set to do a 95 deg wash and has boiled up to the extent that there was a burning smell and it has warped and yellowed the facia. I can’t see how the heater replacement could have affected it, but it seems as if the thermistor or PCB didn’t control the wash temperature. Anyone had a similar fault?
I want to go prepared tomorrow, so any advice would be welcome.

    Thanks,

    Steve.

It can happen when thermistor has decalibrated, so he didn’t modify his value related to coresponding temperature.
For example at 19degrees has around 20KOhm and decrease when temperature arrise, but yours its blocked to constant value arround 10KOhms.

I fitted a new heater to a Zanussi machine a few days ago. Had a recall the next day with an error code showing. The thermistor was miles out of calibration!!!

This is the first washing machine thermistor that I have ever known go out of calibration in over 20 years in the trade. If they do fail they usually go short or open circuit.

Is there something going on here?

I’m thinking……. ‘The Twilight Zone’ theme……. but in reality it is just down to the fact that both machines are CR*P!!! :snig:

    Steve.

P.S. Thanks for the response guys; I’m just getting cynical in my old age……
