Indesit WD12X integrated

I have to change the door seal. Does the front come off these machines? Will it be best to try and work with the machine in situ? I know it can be a nightmare rebuilding the kitchen after getting an integrated washer out.

Sadly no, access is a pig especially the drum clamp ring… 🙁

At least the lid must taken down… because you must have space arround connection between drying module and door gasket, which cannot be sealed otherwise …(I managed once using littlebit grease and push into place upward).

The easiest way ive found is pull machine out whip top off it,take back panel off and tip machine back 45 degrees this gives you a lot more room as pulley drops through hole at back.
It is a pig to get wire band back on especially if it is the wire hook type,the secret is a bit of fairy liquid and bent nosed pliers.

Hi i take the spring type bands off of old zanussi machines to replace bands that are a pain to get back on, i can’t remember if they fit Indesits tho but they make life much easier

Thanks for the tips. Yes it was the hook together type. What with that and the razor edge of the drum aperture it was one of those jobs you wish you could delegate! I didn’t have a suitable tool for stretching the hook ends so I hooked them together then worked the wire into its groove, like fitting a bike tyre, using 2 screwdrivers. This requires a bit of care as you could easily puncture the new seal but I got away with it.
