ParticipantGreetings All….
I have an Indesit WDG1095W (although says WDG1095GB on the back of the machine) with the following fault…
The control dial sticks just before positions 5 & 6, whereapon the machine the machine just endlessly fills and drains at the same time.
Is the problem likely to be with the control module itself?? Its driven by a motor which is obviously managing to turn it round the rest of the time… Could it be that its not getting a signal from some other device?
I’ve recently moved house so can’t really be doing with even more new bills just now!! 😥
Any advice very much appreciated,
regards

Is the drain hose pushed too far down the standpipe (syphoning). Fills and runs out at same time. Was it professionally installed?
Unplug power if you are going to have a look :zap:

😳
Wasn’t proffesionaly installed… Its actually temporarilly set up in the garage just now and I’m moving it around ’cause I’m painting the walls…
The drain pipe was just lying in horizontal position with the end resting over a drain…
I take it thats why a properly installed one has a standpipe thats at a higher level than where the machine sits??
Hopefully you’ve saved me the embarrasment of calling for an engineer once I’d pulled whole thing apart…. 😀
I’ll let you know how I get on,
Many thanks,

Problem solved! 😀 😀 😀 😀
Well…. draping the outlet hose over a cardboard box has served as temporary solution…. promise I’ll rig up something more suitable soon.
At least I can save my ££s for something more fun!!
Thanks a million Simon,
Best regards,
