I have the same problem on the same day how freaky is that. I’ve done some searching and it means you have a bloked pump or your pressure switch is faulty (maybe it’s gunked up and is stuck in the on position) Hope that helps you.

It is most likely to be a blocked pump I think you will find.

😀 I was out of the country on business when fault occurred so I was wondering if my wife should call the engineer. Thanks to those who replied she didn’t and now I’m back I’ve removed the 5p coin from the pump and it is working again. I had to jiggle the pump access point to get it out as it was jammed by the coin. Thanks for the help, it saved an expensive call out.

KeymasterMidnight, come in to find the washing machine is locked shut with wet school uniforms inside. It’s flashing F-05. Thank god for this site. I’ve just spent a soggy half hour emptying the machine and releasing the bit of leggo that had jamed the pump. There is a certain 10 year old that will be grounded tomorrow!

😆 We have an Indesit WE16 and this also halted and came up with the fault code f06. Having found this site I found the water pump and inside I found a hair clip – problem solved. On the WE16 model the water pump can be accessed by removing the panel at the bottom on the front – it just clips on. There is then aceess to the inside of the pump on the right-hand side by unscrewing a large bung.
What a great site!

If you are asking that question, you really need an engineer to sort this out for you.

Thanks! great site! Our indesit WE10 wasn’t working and we had a potentially expensive call-out booked. I opened the water pump and found a 1 pence, 4 5 pence pieces, a hair grip and a hair band!

KeymasterThanks to you lot ive just managed to fix my WE12. Same thing, a decking screw,4 coins, a hair grip and a couple of wood staples. Couldn’t get the bung out so had to lean the machine back and undo the pipe that goes to the pump and remove the offending articles through that way. Machine now working fine, just as well cus i was going to go and price up a new machine tommorow. Many thanks.

Had a F-05 Error flashing on the WE13 and managed to remove a baby sock from the pump assembly. Thanks for the posting on this site, just saved a few quid… 😆

after reading your replies I took out the bung at the bottom of the machine and removed a couple of coins and a sweet wrapper! put it all back together, mopped up and started machine again……… same fault code 😥
Thought I might have missed something so went through same procedure again but nothing visible? could it be stuck further back or do you think its a knackered pump or something? If it could be further back how do I get to it? trying to fix it before hubby gets home to save him a job 😀

You need to check right back into the pump chamber. Is the impellor free to turn? Hands, knees and torch is the only way to check properly.
