ParticipantHi all, I am an ex-pat living in Australia & have a Indesit WE13 washer which my wife advises initially displayed a F12 fault & now when powered on shows all the icons on the panel then usually goes blank with the occasional display of 0:42 or 0:25 but will not work. I found on this site that F12 is a communication failure between the Programme Module and the main Power Module & so I opened it up removed the main green PCB with LCD attached & cleaned the two contacts with a rubber & ensured everything else was seated ok. There was another small white PCB behind the control knob which I couldn’t remove but which I endeavored to clean & reseat the connector plug. Unfortunately it is just the same as described.
The machine is only 11 months old but was bought as second hand as it had a dent in the side but inside the drum & belt etc look brand new. So the question is if I get a new PCB (the green one) & fit it myself what are the odds it will fix it, thus saving me a call out of @$100 ?? Or could it be the white one too or I have I overlooked something I can try. I’m ok with electronics so any help would be welcome.
Thanks in advance

Hmm – how to answer this politely. You’ve obviously had a search around the site to get the info so far. It’s always a main board fault (the big one in the bottom) with these for the F12 fault – it’s telling you that it’s gone wrong, but it doesn’t know what. It is an endemic problem in the UK where these machines are sold as bottom end economy products. A 3 year service life is actually considered quite good 😯 . Given that the machine is second hand (I hope you didn’t pay too much for it), I’d bail out and get something decent. I gather that Bosch and AEG are popular in Oz – they are certainly well regarded over here, so if you have to have a front loader they might be your best option.
HTH,
