I have a strange problem with my Washing machine. It take forever to finish a cycle i.e on a 1 hours 26 cycle pro gramme 5 it takes over two hours? Can this be a fault? I have timed this and have wait an extra 30 minutes for the cycle to finish….

I have noticed some water on the floor and will check the filters!

    Can somebody help me!

If the machine is faulty then it should be showing an error code. Check the filters first but if it is clear then the leak needs urgent investigation. There is virtually nothing to ‘service ‘ on a modern washing machine, but leaks or unusual noises should be attended to ASAP.

Extended times can be caused by poor water pressure as well.

There are no error codes Water pressure from is fine… I dont know where the water is coming from. I have cleaned filters last night and put the machine on a 90oc run 2 hours 5 minutes after one hour it has only done 20 minutes in the cycle! Maybe time for a new washing machine unless anybody has an answer!

Without any error codes being displayed it really is a matter of electrically testing basic components such as the heater etc. It is possible to put the machine through a test routine but you need a fairly expensive bit of specialist kit to do this.

Perhaps a call to a local independent engineer may be advisable, or you could try the link below.

Be sure to remove the mains plug if you intend to have a look inside.
