Hi there,
We have a 2 year old indesit we16 washer. Recently its started displaying F-01 and sometimes (although less often F-02). It generally happens between the middle and end of the cylcle, and then just stops 🙁 It seems a lot louder too, and wobbles and shakes a lot more – moving around too. This never used to happen…
Can anoyone help me? I know that f-01 is supposed to be related to the control board. Funnily enough, when the washer was only a few weeks old, it F-01’d – and the engineer tried replcaing the control board then – can it really have gone again??!?!
Any help greatly appreciated, as we’re wary of spending the £80 call out fee for the indesit approved engineer unless we need to!

Bad news Matt….It’s a MOTOR problem….so possibly BIG MONEY to sort…. 😥
I guess if say you set it to spin only…you get the Error Code…yes?
It may just be that the motor brushes are playing up but from my experience I doubt that’s the easy option.

Aggggh!! A whole new motor, or are they repairable?
We don’t use the washer very much – maybe 3 times a week – so I would have expected the motor to last much longer 🙁
Its intermittent – does that confirm it is the motor? We just did 2 full washes today.. the first time it shuddered and f1-d, then after turning off and on again, it happily went about its business for 2 full washes!

The carbon brushes may be sticking in their holders; there may be a poor/intermittent contact somewhere in the motor circuit; if your drive motor is a SOLE brand motor the tacho magnet may be loose, the motor may be getting damp from the innumerable leaks that occur on these appliances – or the computer board may just be as mad as a hatter.
If you are unable to check out these potential faults technically or safely, please get some professional assistance.

Have you checked the filter on this machine, to ensure that the water is discharging at the nominal rate?
(It seems a lot louder too, and wobbles and shakes a lot more – moving around too. This never used to happen… )
It could be that the w/mc is struggling to work with excess water/weight of washing?
The drain pumps on these machines are also not very good,become sluggish.
The way to check the discharge is thus;
With the machine empty select a rinse programme.Once the w/mc has finished filling,cancel that programme and reselect spin. The water should have drained away b4 spin function starts, you should be able to see the water discharge through the door glass.

We had this F01 error code on our Indesit WIXEE127.
Removed the water pump filter, cleaned it, put it back. Found no obvious problems.
The Indesit website says the Triac on the control board, that’s the one at the rear lower left hand side of the machine in a white plastic case. Removed that board after unplugging all the connecting plugs (a camera’s helpful to make it easy to put them back)cleaned the board with meths and kitchen paper.Saw no obvious problems such as burning or cracks or damaged components. Put it back.
Removed the belt and motor. Removed the brushes and holders and made sure there was plenty of length left on the brushes as they were a set replaced twelve months earlier. Cleaned the motor commutator with a vacuum and a scrubbed it with a toothbrush to make sure there wasn’t carbon between the copper segments, shorting them out. Replaced the motor.
Put it back together and it works alright as usual.
We were dismayed when after fifteen months from new the drum bearings packed in and we found they couldn’t be repaired as the plastic outer drum is welded together. An expensive repair as the entire drum had to be replaced. Not very environmentally friendly either.
That aside the machine is now five years old and washes clothes well with lots of programmes. Is the computerised fault display any help? It doesn’t seem like it.
