i have also have the same problem with my washing machine ie the door lock symbol does not appear but the timer counts down but the machine does not move,any advice please?

The doorlock is a switch mechanism; it is possible for the door to lock, but not to switch the power through to activate the machine.
Unless you can you a test meter safely, it’s time for pro help.
