ParticipantHi there,
New to this site but have found it a goldmine of info.
However, I have a 6year old Indesit WE16s washer and it has just started to constantly fill and drain water. Sometimes F8 ERROR appears, sometimes not.
Its spin is fine, however, the programs are now confused, and do not fulfil their criteria. Switch on and the water enters, the pump starts immediately, constant water in/out.
I’ve checked the usual suspects – pressure switch/chamber, drain hose height, filter – all OK – I believe there is no heating of water – and I’ve heard that some Indesit models fill and drain if there is a heating fault.
If it is, where would I look first – thermister , element, etc.?
Can these parts be ordered separately?
Any nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated.Regards in kind

The PCB fas failed. Constant fill/drain doesn’t happen as part of a programme – there is either a logic problem or burning on the fine tracks from the triac array. F8 is a heater relay issue, also part of the PCB.
At 6 years old, this is positively ancient for an Indesit, so probably time to move on.

Many thanks Penguin45,much indebted, it’s interesting you say ‘move on’ but if I replace the PCB , wouldn’t that be the best solution?
I guess the part would cost a £100 – or is it that there is a final dawn for this model/Indesit reliability ?
Anyway, looking for other brands now.Regards.

Your Indesit has done very well to last 6 years, to spend £100 or more on it would probably be the start of a ‘money pit’. Now to its replacement……..:?
Indesit / Hotpoint / Ariston…..all the same machine in different dresses. Machines lasting less than 3 years are sadly very common. So not a sound choice today. Avoid.
The only machines that can be recommended now would be – Mid to high range Bosch or Siemens or Miele (will all last 6 years +) or look at the ISE 5 on this site with a 5 year parts and labour warranty included.Hope that helps!!
