    My washing machine is making lots of holes in my towels! It is about 8 years old and started doing this around 2/3 months ago.

    I have had a repair man look at it and he is completely baffled. No obvious faults apparent.

    Anyone out there able to help?. 😥

    Overloading, worn clothes gaurd on the door seal, rough edge on the inner drum, there’s a few things it could be in all honesty.

    Are the tears like cuts, as in not frayed, or do they look ripped?

    More like pulled thread, then holes appear all over. Drum been checked, and guard appears O.K.

    Has an underwire from a bra been lost around that time?

    Yep, Id go with that Mary, Simon is right I think as I’ve seen it before as well. A bra wire occasionally will pop up through one of the holes in the drum and its just enough to make a little hole.

    I did have that problem, was about 18 months ago tho’. The engineer found it and I thought that was the end of the problem!.
