I have reluctantly started to repair these machines after over 20 years avoiding them like the plague. Feeling sorry for the number of people ringing me that cannot find suitable service from manufacturer or local guys.

The motor appears perfect, no signs of water ingress from drum seal etc. had the module checked out at QER who gave it the OK. All wiring connections are sound and tacho magnet is fine.
On wash, motor runs unevenly and every so often gives quite violent power surges.

On spin it will run unevenly in distribute then cut out altogether. On one occasion I tapped the control timer ( severely 🙂 ) and it then ran perfectly on spin through all distribute and 600/1000 spin.

On a second occasion after it would not spin, I revolved the timer several times quite vigourously and once again it went through the spin cycle OK.

Would anyone agree with my suspicions of a control timer fault and is the EC Type timer from EMW the same as theC00054735 timer ?

Just tell Tony what the full “EC” number on the label is and you will get the right one. They work off those codes rather than manufacturers part numbers.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

Defo, well known one. Check p/sw as well though.

From what i know from Bosch wvf series, irregular spin is the fault of the timer!!

I don’t bother getting these timers repaired as they are only £27.75 new from Connect. 🙂
