KeymasterHi,
I have an Indesit WG1130T machine that has a small leak.
A small puddle appears at the right of the machine, towards the end of a wash cycle and also after the cycle has finished.
I’m wondering if it a leak in the outlet hose or a loose seal somewhere.
Thanks for any help.
Jamie.

Jamie,
It is an elderly machine that could leak anywhere really. Further investigation is required. Not something we could put our finger on simply by your description, sorry 🙁
Likely problems are Door Seal punctured and split, internal hoses perished, drain pipe overflowing etc etc etc. Do take a closer look but remember to PULL THE PLUG FIRST!!!

I was going to investigate it further tonight, so will hopefully have some more info after that.

While you’re round the back Jimster, check for the full model number should you require spares.
The full number will be WG1130TG – WG1130TGT or WG1130TPG.
Merloni in their ultimate wisdom made three versions and they all are slightly different models 😕
Why didn’t they call one of them WG1131T or something ? The mind boggles sometimes.

After close inspection, it appears that the problem is where the outlet hose connects to the pump. The clip that holds the outlet hose in place doesn’t seem very good and the hose has moved slightly. That also seemed to be the only place where there was traces of water, so it’s probably where the leak was coming from.
I’ll pick up a decent clip to make sure the hose is secure on the pump, which should hopefully fix the problem.

Participant“You never get a drip with Jubilee Clip” was the old slogan. Manufacturers just don’t use them any more because they are slow to fit. Try and find one as close to the actual diameter as possible to ensure that it stays circular when fastened, and be very careful when getting the spring ring off – they are a lot stronger than most people realise.
Pull the plug first………

I was planning on using a jubilee clip instead of the spring clip. I use one where the outlet hose is connected under the sink. I’m surprised they aren’t fitted as standard in the washing machine.
Thanks for all the info.

Good heavens no! Jubilee clips are expensive and manufacturers take the cheap option these days. ‘Cable Ties’ and other plastic clips is their choice and when something can be held together with a plastic lug or latch instead of the metal screw, even better 😯
Ask yourself….. “Why are many washing machines so cheap to buy these days?”……..answer = plastic, polycarbonates and even polystyrene !!

Have had one where a coin put a hairline crack in the pump housing.
