Just found this forum and I hope you can help.

We bought an Indesit WG1286 washing machine just over 4 years ago and in that time we have had the module replaced at least 3 times. The last replacement was susposed to be a re-designed board that would resolve the issue that caused the previous burn-outs.

That replacement was in January 04 and so now we are outside the guarentee for that module and wouldn’t you believe it the board has another burn out on one of the connectors. The symptoms are that the drum doesn’t spin during the wash or spin cycle.

I’ve noted that the current module is a Remco 5520/5525, part number 066454. However looking for the part on spares websites I don’t see this part listed against the WG1286 machine. Instead they list the 5530/5535, part number 066456.

Does anyone know which module I should be fitting to this Indesit WG1286 machine?

If the connector pin has arcd onto the PCB the new PCB will be damaged by the blackend pin. I always turn them over. fresh metal to new board.

The board is usually recoverable with a soldering iron and some wire reinforcement. It is normally the live feed into the board which fails – causes can vary from poor contact from the edge connector to the motor labouring due to consistent overloading or partial blockages/worn pump.

    Pull the plug first………

Indesit also do a module harness repair kit for this model, might be worth getting in touch with them to purchase one before replacing module.
