INDESIT WI103UK help required from engineers

Im an engineer- just having trouble with a customers washing machine- as in the subject area, its an indesit WI103UK- and the dial just keeps clicking! its a digital machine- so which ever programme its put on e.g 1,2,3, it’ll take a little bit of water and then the dial just starts its constant clicking and going round and round…any engineers have a solution????

When you say you are an engineer, do you mean in this trade? If so you will find a large amount of useful help and advice in the trade forums. I would strongly advise you to register.

When the timer knob starts to rotate, the mains neon will start to flash a set number of times, pause then flash again. You need to count the sequence, this is an error code.

usually if you find the dial ticking pretty soon during the fill it will flash 8 times and be a heater relay fault but count the flashes and let us know

Yes I am in the trade and will be requesting access to the trade forums. Thanks for the help so far. with regard to the number of times the light flashes- i’ll get back to you on that one.

Whilst 8 flashes is supposed to signify a heater relay fault, in practice it can be, module, NTC, pressure switch, loose wiring, the way the wind is blowing, etc :rolls: . One of the more ambiguous faults and often difficult to pin down. 😥

8 flashes is perhaps the most common one i see and it always occurs during the period of filling just as it stops and starts again, i find usually is dry joints on the board or the actual relay itself and tends to solve the problem for me 9 times in ten, the only time it doesnt is if the board has visably blown.

Hi!
Could you tell me wether the relay is replaceable (ie. is it supplied seperately) or do you have to get a whole new circuit board???
I have been having this problem with an Indesit! But after having taken the main circuit board out, undone and re-done all the connections, it appears to be going OK! again. Time will tell.

I have changed a few relays from scrapped machines or boards that were damaged in other ways but sometimes it is just dry joints on the relay connections.
most of the time the repair does not take and a new board is required.

Carbon dust from the motor on the back of the module can throw up an F08 fault also, i’ve cleaned them up to cure a couple never been back.
