Indesit WI141 washing machine fault

Trying to find some info on Indesit error codes – the in-laws machine has the constantly rotating selector knob problem. I have read as much as I can on here and have asked them to count how many times the indicator light flashes – the answer came back it flashes twice, then three times quickly, then once, then goes off after that it appears to flash 8 or 9 times! Not sure if this is just random flashing or if it is the 8 or 9 times that I should concentrate on? Any ideas – we just want to know which part may be at fault so we can decide if repair is economic – the machine is only 18 months old.

We’ll need the actual count Paul – ie 1-2-3-4-pause-repeat. This should be occuring once the dial is clunking round.

If it is 8 and 9 which is possible but unlikely then it’s a heating control problem or the software on the main PCB is corrupt.

Power off if checking please :zap:

But I’d get an engineer out to be honest, check the repairs@ link below 🙂

Thanks for the info to date guys. I have been round to double check and the machine is definately only flashing eight times (repeatedly). So wheres the problem and a rough estimate of repair costs would be much appreciated. Then I can advise whether to go ahead and arrange repairs or buy a new machine.

8 flashes is a heat control problem relating to the PCB or a component failure on it.

Knowing Indesit fault codes, one of half a dozen problems could be the cause though 🙁
