Indesit WIA121 wont re-set and bangs about.

I have the above in my workshop.
The customer called me out because it’s banging about on spin. He thought it was the bearings or something.
When I got there, the drum shaft and bearings are fine, but the lady owner informed me it wont switch off with the selector (which it wont) and I cant seem to re-set it.
When I told her that I couldn’t re-set it, she said, “Yeah, it seems like the program’s all confused”.
It’s not the smart card version, the electronics are in the facia panel.
Not yet tested it for the banging around, I was wandering if it was perhaps not distributing as it should???
Heater is ok (tested with mega) and so is the motor. There is a reading through the thermistor and a circuit back through the thermistor connecting leads.
I personaly think its the module, just wandered if anyone has had this fault before or knows the correct program re-set proc.

Definitely the board. Had one the other day. EMW sent me one, plug and play.

It was probably banging due to board causing the motor to spin on wash, or something like that.

Yes sounds like the board. There is no special re-set procedure, exept holding the start button in. I replaced one of these L shaped boards when fault was unable to reset the programme or cancel once started. Got one from EMW and that fixed it, that was about six months ago.

for reference purposes, it is a smartcard version

emw are your best bet

if you ever need to use a smart card reader, you need a low end adaptter

ok, so if works with a smart card, where does it connect to as there is no board at the back?

With the low end adaptor that plugs onto the side of the board near the top.

The ‘low end adaptor’ was supplied with the old style hardware key.

So, if I order up the main PCB from connect which is 5045173347618 will it more than likely need setting up with the smart card reader and low end adaptor then?

Yes. Keep it simple – get a plug and play from EMW.
