let’s assume that I am an idiot! and once overloaded this machine and at that time there was a cracking noise as if something broke. More recently the machine is making a load banging and occasional jump as the final spin slows down. We’ve had the back off and checked the springs and levelled the feet – tired to make sure loads are even etc
No other signs other than a slight squeaking as the drum rotates and a slight bit of graunching. However, the main event is this really scary banging as the final spin slows down.
Costly?
Re: indesit wib111 big bang on final spin slow down
Get rid of it, it was a poor quality machine when you bought it, sadly it has a totally sealed drum so any noises from within the drum such as you describe will require a complete drum assembly.
Most of the trade insert the letter S between the s and i in Indesit, there is a very good reason for that. :rolls:
Re: indesit wib111 big bang on final spin slow down
that’s helpful! not sure the noise is within the drum anyway but behind/underneath it – it was given to me newish but sadly i cant afford one right now –
Re: indesit wib111 big bang on final spin slow down
Take a look underneath the drum, you have two “shock absorbers” 1 either side of the drum, I think one of these is probably broken in some way.. If this is the problem, it’s repairable …
