2,3 & 4 (FO7) is supposed to signify a heater relay fault. It is more often F08 that points to heater relay fault though.

If you type ‘Indesit AND eight AND flashes’ into the forum search engine you will get all the reading you need, don’t have nightmares, :rolls: 😉

its been a while since i repaired washers for a living, but had a indesit for 10 years very little problems, i did here about problems with this model didnt know they were so wide spread, its washing away again now so will keep a eye on it, do these washers come with just 1 years warranty, i wonder if taking out a extra warranty might be worth while, i only paid £151 for it brand new 9 months ago but still hoped for 3 years use before replacing it.

i dont think 3 years out of a new appliance is unreasonable , regardless if i paid £151 or the retail price of £299, ok if i got 2 years i probably would be fairly happy, but 9 months, but has i said its washing again but has ive found out there’s no point getting anything really cheap if its unreliable, its all these electronic b@llocks, there always the first thing to fail, when i used to be in the trade some brand new washers had lcd displays and electronic controller’s instead of the mechanical ones and they were very poor regarding reliability, do all new washers have electronic programmers in them now?

yup nearly all machines have electronic controls

here go the consumer rights brigade

want 5 years warranty on a £151 machine, but quite happy to pay £500+ to put a £25,000 car through an mot after 3 years

is it really that hard to be realistic?

always seems odd, some people go food shopping and avoid the stripey value products cause its clearly rubbish, then go next door and buy a machine for under £200 and complain when it fails in the first year!

i dont expect a 5 year warranty but did read indeshit gave a 5 years parts warranty if so might be usefull to know thats why i asked, has for your car senerio, i see the point your trying to make but using your maths equation paying 1/50 the cost of the car to repair it after 3 years would be the same has me paying out £3.02 to fix my washer so not really the same is it, has if the main electronic panel has gone faulty the cost would be £90 just for the part to fix my washer. Im also sure that fault list was posted on here 2 years ago but when i did a forum search it didnt appear, also yes i do buy tesco’s value stuff has some of it is good and exact same has better brand but then some is garabage has you say, but im not brand orinentated, i went for the same brand i had previously which still worked after 10 years, ok so i changed the carbon brushes a few times and replaced the door and a few door seals, but that washer is in my shed has my backup washer, like i said if i got 2 years i would have been ok with it, i think 3 years was probably pushing my luck, also by the way i fix my own car lol, £16 for a new track rod end on my 4 year old £22000 car to get it thru this years mot, it went straight thru last year.

hang on a min, if you bought it 9 months ago brand new, why are you not getting it fixed under garantee??

i will be getting it fixed under the warranty, it must have a least 12 months with it, only problem is looks like the faults cleared it self has its all working again , so now i know what to look at ie heater connections/pcb/heater relay on pcb/wiring to heater, what i will do is have a good look round to make sure there’s no burning on the pcb for instance, i dont want the fault coming back when the washer is 13 months old do i, if i see anything and the fault happens again i will phone indesit. Thanks lads for your help, you probably think im a right tight arse expecting too much from a £151 cheap washer/drier and you be spot on.

so your car was requiring a part after 4 years? and if the part wasnt fitted, it wasnt fit for use on a public road

    NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

id be going back to the car dealer and demand a new vehicle, compensation for the hassle, id be on the net posting on every car forum i could find

people do it for £100 fridges, why not for a £22,000 car?

you all taking my point yet?

lol, dont take all this to heart… weve all detracted from the original post, and at leat the machines working at the mo, and will probably require a pcb and eprom at some stage, its a sticky heater relay

    take care

ok, but be carefull what your playing with in there, you dont want to invalidate your garantee
