Our Indesit WIDL 126S has stopped drying! Stuff inside the drum is warmed ever-so slightly, but doesn’t dry. I’ve had the top off and the drying fan still spins, but the heater element doesn’t seem to get warm.

Any ideas? Is there a thermostat that could have gone? Or a heater fuse? Or something blocked somewhere? Any suggestions very welcome!

if the clothes are indeed warm, the condenser is blocked ( the white duct from under the fan motor to the back of the drum (be careful if your taking it off, theres some razor sharp edges)

if its just cold then the usual suspect is the thermal link wire to the heater ( yello sheath)
a simple test with a meter should confirm

my moneys on the condenser being blocked

Ta — I’ll try a nice, careful investigation tomorrow 🙂 Looks very cramped around the back of the drum…

Turned out to be the thermal link. Anyone know where I might get one on-line? It’d be nice to get one ordered tonight rather than call Indesit tomorrow…

(The condenser was also full of gunk, so ta for suggesting giving it a god cleaning!)
