I have an Indesit WIDL102 washer dryer which has been very good until yesterday when the machine just seemed to keep filling and the 2 led’s on the right were flashing quickly. I am led to believe this to be the F03 code which is an NTC fault.

I metered the Thermistor at the rear of the drum and got a reading of about 24K Ohms and the connections and wiring were tested good.

I’m not sure if I need to replace the Thermistor or the control board. Looking at a lot of posts the control board is often at fault. Obviously the thermistor is a damn sight cheaper. Can I order both and send back the control board if replacing thermistor fixes the fault?

It’s just out of warranty (typically!) so I’m loath to call out the Indesit engineer with a 3 week wait, 70 quid call out fee, parts, labour etc.

    Thanks in advance,

    Daz

Have you checked the one on the dryer heater box?

Thanks for the reply Penguin. No I haven’t checked that one. Is that at the top of the machine with similar blue wires? I’ll have another look. Thanks,

The one on the dryer heater box gives a different error code. I have had several NTC failures recently, even though the NTC gave a decent reading, changing it cured the fault.

Part is very cheap and well worth trying before you risk a module.

An e-mail to spares@ukwhitedgoods.co.uk should do the trick.

    Ask for a C00053573

Are you sure that is the correct ntc for that model Jim, I thought it was the idc type C00083915 for the wash heater?

Partfinder shows both types of NTC either in the heater or in the back of the drum, however as the OP stated ‘thermistor at the rear of the drum’ I have given that part number. 😀

OK. I replaced the Thermistor. It was the right part number. Unfortunately the fault has not cleared. So the big question I suppose is, do I go ahead and replace the control board or give in and call an engineer?

Considering the part is probabaly worth over 80 pounds plus call out fee plus labour I’m even considering a new machine (not an Indesit!). Any advice?

    Hi

    Re the original post ,

    quote {I have an Indesit WIDL102 washer dryer which has been very good until yesterday when the machine just seemed to keep filling and the 2 led’s on the right were flashing quickly.}
Surely this is a fill problem ie:- pressure switch or air bottle blocked up if it kept filling.

Fair point but wouldn’t give F03 fault.

Daz, does the machine start to fill if you set it to a spin programme?

Thanks for your replies chaps. Well I’ve had a bit more of a play and I’ll try and offer a bit more information. From power up and door closed and the start button not yet pressed, the machine appears normal until about 12 flashes of the door led. Then there is a click from somewhere near the top of the machine (relay/switch maybe?) and the fault condition appears and machine starts to fill. I have to power off and wait for the click before I can turn on the machine otherwise the fault condition appears the instant power is applied. If I press ‘start’ before the fault condition it will start the selected program. But the fault condition returns again within about 10-15 seconds. Hope that makes sense…..

Can you manage to set it to spin and press Start before it starts to fill, does it still fill even on spin? If so your PCB is almost certainly FUBARed.

Sorry, yes. I can set it to spin and then press start. It will start the spin cycle but just for a few seconds before it starts to fill and leds start to flash. So just to confirm, its the PCB, being the control board at the bottom and front of the machine?

Re: Indesit WIDL102 error lights. NTC?

This was a common fault on the previous Indesit machines that had a small rotary switch on the control panel and the large PCB in the base.

It does seem to confirm that your main ( expensive ) PCB is faulty. 😥

I just took the PCB out. Somethings definitely blown on there. Charred on both sides and R20 or C10 are looking favourite. I’m going to test them and possibly replace. But it’s definitely the board so I think I’m going to replace it if my DIY fails. I don’t suppose you could help with a part number again? Cheers,

    Daz
