    Hi everybody.
I’ve got a friend with an Indesit widl126 that is not drying. The machine works normally in every way except it is not producing any hot air. The blower fan runs, so I suspect the heater coil or the stat on the dryer housing…..how can I tell which is duff or indeed if I should be barking up a completely different tree!
    Many thanks
    Chris

With the machine unplugged and using the correct electrical test equipment and the experience to know how to use it. Otherwise try the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help you.

    Hi Jim
Thanks for your reply. I measured the resistance of the heater element at 40 ohms and the thermostat at something over 10,000 ohms if that’s of any help….trouble is I don’t know what the readings should be, can anyone advise?
    Many thanks

Sounds like you mean the NTC not the thermostat. Not sure of the exact range on this machine but it can be between 10KΏ & 20KΏ on average but this will vary a great deal depending on temperature. To be honest I think it is time to ‘get someone in’ . There are several other components involved in the heater circuits, far too many to go through safely on a public forum.

    Jim.
