ParticipantI have been given one of the above by a friend who was scrapping it, they had been told the drumm needed replacing.
There was a knocking sound on spin but that was caused by part of the steam condenser hitting the drum. I have straightened out what is simply a stainless steel gauze disc but surely that isn’t the entire assembly?
I don’t want to order a new condneser if it doesn’t need one but suspect something is missing!
Can anybody desribe what the condenser looks like please?
Thanks…Marcus

Yep that’s it. A round disk on a bolt.

Oh, then there is something else wrong. I tried a drying cycle once I straightened the disc and after about 30 minutes the machine stopped with an error code (lights 1,2 and 4 flashing). I opened the door and the washing was still damp but very hot and steamy. I hought the incomplete condenser was not doing it’s job properly but might be barking up the wrong tree!

The real question is, would you give a real friend an Indesit regardless of it’s condition. :rolls:

I’m not here to defend Bosch, but will stand by my opinions on the quality (or lack of) of the Indesit Companies products. :rolls:

I know these machines are not well regarded but it’s fixed now and it didn’t need any parts so at least it I’ve managed to keep it out of landfill for a little longer.
Just got to sell it now!
