    Hi all,
I have an Indesit WIE147, just over 5yo, and it’s now stopped working.
When I switch on and set the program (any program), the small red door lock indicator light that would normally be visible, isn’t, and the cycle just sits there doing nothing (on some cycles it will open the water valve for a split second).

The door is definately locking OK, and wont release until after I switch power off, and after a time delay.

Yesterday, I did manage to get the machine to operate (this time the little red door light was illuminated) but it stopped half way through the cycle and the word ‘DOOR’ appeared in the display.

This morning I took the lid off to look for anything obvious (such as a connector block loose etc) but all seems in order.

Any ideas on which part could be at fault would be much appreciated.

    Cheers Paul

Re: Indesit WIE147 Door Lock Fault

At this age its worth checking the motor brushes, worn brushes will stop the machine from starting.

It could still be the door lock and TBH that is your best hope apart from brushes. A new doorlock, part number C00085194 is not that expensive. If that is not the cause of the fault then you may well be looking at a main PCB fault. 😥

Unfortunately I cannot see that part in the Shop@, an e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get you sorted though.
