Hello there, I have an Indesit WIL 153 (old but usually reliable) which is refusing to stop it’s wash cycle other than killing power to it.
All functions are working fine, filling, spinning and draining etc but just repeats cycles.
I presumed that it had been knocked into test/demo mode and tried an old reset of ON, start/start, hold ON/OFF and Start for a few moments but hasn’t helped matters.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thats not old, I regularly repair Hotpoint & Hoover machines four times the age of that one.

Sadly I won’t be able to say that about the current machines since Indesit took control of Hotpoint a few years back. :rolls:

There is no ‘test mode’ as such on these machines, unless you have the hardware key or the company software.

When it is set to a rinse & spin cycle or a spin only cycle what happens. If set to say a spin cycle does it keep spinning or start to fill and wash again?

Unfortunately the electronics on these are about the worst on the market and in most cases when all of the obvious possibilities have been eliminated it is usually the main board that has corpsed.

Thanks for the very rapid reply Iadom.

When I put it on a seperate rinse and spin cycle is works fine, rinse, spin and end. It’s only when it’s set to full cycle it plays up. It ends spin and then starts filling again after 10 seconds, then off we go again.

I’m going to strip it tomorrow and have a looksee and check/clean the controls.

    Thanks again.
