ParticipantHello,
I was hoping to get a few pointers about how to connect up the hot water to my washing machine.
This machine is in the property that I rent, but I don’t mind spending a few bob if needs be. I’ve been happy enough for the last 2 years with just cold washing, but some stuff would just benefit from a warm wash every now and then!
I thought this would be quite simple, there’s a hot house all plumbed in so I thought I’d just plug it in … until I had a look.
There’s no spot for the hot and in fact it doesn’t even look like the machine expects for a hot input! I checked the installation manual I found (page 2 / http://www.aroundtownflats.com/manuals/ … Manual.pdf) and it looks like it should be able to take the two hoses as inputs.
Here’s some photos of what I’m seeing:
1. This is the back of the machine showing the cold input.2. I’ve used a mirror to show the underside of the water input assembly. This photo shows the tracks on the underside where I assume the water flows, flowing into the detergent tray.
3. Here’s the mirror shot again, up the back of the machine, showing the tracks again and the solenoids. There’s 2 solenoids, and by following the tracks I made an educated guess that one solenoid controls the pre-wash input flow and the other controls the main input flow.
4. There’s the top of the machine with the lid off – see, nothing on the other side of where I’d expect the hot to go.
5. And, a close up of the solenoids. Not a great photo, sorry about that.
So … where does the hot even go? I’m quite baffled!
Many thanks in advance for any help!

why do you want to redesign the machine ?It is only a cold fill but the water is heated during the wash

Aaaah! Absolutely don’t want to redesign the machine – heating during the wash crossed my mind but the two hoses shown in the manual made me think otherwise.
But – thanks for the very quick reply – confirmed that I don’t need to do anything = great result!

You might want to swap the cold fill pipe round as well. The elbow fitting goes to the machine end
