During an accident at the electric transformator box in the neighbourhood our Indesit WIU 80 got fried. The full number of the machine is 61204 1536 24427380005 (I think). What I need now is a kind advice about the part that has been fried. I opened up the case, and fortunately most of the electronics seem to be okay. The part that is fried is a tiny disk with a hole in it, positioned between the cable inputs on the circuit board. The washing machine was not working when this happened. There was a sudden sound like a gun shot from the mashine, and that was it.
What is the technical name for the described fried part? This is my main question.
I also suspect that changing it would be relatively easy, so a hint on how to do it, or where to find information about this, would be most welcome.

If it’s on thePCB itself then you will need the whole PCB replaced.

If this is a documented “Accident at the Transformer” then you should consider getting your local Electricity authourity to pay for an engineer to carry out the repairs.

Thanks for the fast reply! Now I’m looking for the spare part at the internet, but can’t find WIU 80 even in Indesit’s search machine. Perhaps the reason is that it was bought in Russia? I suppose every single Indesit model has it’s own PCB, right? Well, maybe I can get the part at a service center or somewhere. Thank you once again.
