    Hi All
My Indesit WIXL123, 1200 smells of very warm (not hot) rubber during and after a wash.
The dispenser drawer is not the cause and it seems to be happening during fast drum portions of the cycle. Definitely noticeable when I open the door after a wash.

Additionally I have halved the load amount and the smell seems not so noticeable suggesting that the weight of wet washing may be causing something to ‘rub’?

Before I usually put approx 3 bath sheets and a couple of face towels equivalent in per wash (or similar), but am doing lighter loads now just in case. I haven’t overloaded the machine previously nor do I let wet washing sit inside for any amount of time.
I am using a standard programme (9) for around 40 mins at 40dg. I also put detergent into the dispenser, not the drum.

I would be able to do some minor repairs with a little guidance, but at present I don’t know if I’m looking at bearings, brushes or belts ( & wouldn’t know what each is for yet)!
I can learn which is which and poss replace a part myself with a little instruction but electrics are beyond me!

Thank you in advance if you can help, I’m really grateful!

    Have a good day!

Sadly the inner and outer drum on this entry level machine is one complete, sealed unit so any faults inside the drum are usually not worth doing.

Is the machine a little noisy on final spin?

Not more than usual. No banging or new noises, but its not the quietest machine in the market, nor has it ever been!

It’s not unknown for the drum support spider to break. This will cause the drum to run off centre under full speed and rub against the seal. You can usually tell if the drum appears a little off centre when turning.
