ParticipantMy washing machine (Indesit WIXL143) has stopped working and the lights are flashing as follows
Function buttons, top row from left to right
1 – Delay Timer – flashing
2 – Stain Removal – flashing
3 – Easy Iron – flashing
4 – Extra Rinse – flashing
5 – Door lock – flashingTo the left of these lights there are also a set of four vertical lights as follows. Top to Bottom
1 – Prewash (2h) – off
2 – Wash (4h) – off
3 – Rinse (6h) – off
4 – Spin Cycle (9h) – flashingI understand these indicate some error code but I can’t figure out what lights correspond to what error. Does anyone know what these flashing lights mean or any suggestions on how to fix the machine?

That is not an error code, are the top row of lights including the door lock light all flashing rapidly at the same speed?

Yes all the ‘flashing lights’ are flashing rapidly at the same speed. Also the on/off button doesn’t do anything. The only way to power off is to disconnect the mains supply.

That is a known fault on the main circuit board, a capacitor has failed.

Unless you a good with a soldering iron then yes, it should not need a complete new pcb unless you are very unlucky.

Thanks again iadom for your help. I’m not good with a soldering iron (but not a complete amateur). I may have a look and see if it looks like I can replace the capacitor.

Light 1 flashing is ‘supposed’ to be F01, again it is supposed to signify a short circuit motor triac on the main pcb.
It can be anything from a faulty main motor or power pcb to worn motor brushes or poor motor wiring connections.
