Indesit WM12XUK – Noisy motor

Recently had a problem with spin speed not being too great. I ordered new brushes, but they weren’t quite the correct ones – the angle of the brushes was the wrong way around, although the same housings. I managed to dismantle and reconnect the brushes which were much longer, so could get more pressure on the armature. Spin speed is now fine but there is a very pronounced high pitch whine.

Should I be changing the brushes again our could it be motor bearings?

You should get the correct brushes and try those first.

or you can file the correct profile on the brush, i do this quite often if they have the opposite profile
