Induction hob Q

I bought an induction hob on ebay for £1.
When I went to pick it up the seller gave it to me in it’s original box. They told me that they rarely used it. It doesn’t look v used at all. And that they had to sell it because members of the family had pacemakers.

I’m planning to put this induction hob in my new kitchen I’m having fitted next month. It will need to be hardwired in. IF it doesn’t work will it be difficult to replace it with another one? Will the hole cut out for it be a standard size? Can I ask my electrician to test it?

EBay? £1? Alarm bells. Don’t cut holes get a local spark to temporarily wire it up and bench test it fully first. Induction hobs are notoriously unreliable it must be said 🙁

    No it should be straightforward.

Cut out sizes do vary but a good kitchen fitter would be able to trim the cut out very easily.

I would get him to test it before he drops it into the worktop just to be on the safe side.

Don’t forget the hob should be installed as per the installation instructions to ensure good air flow etc.

    Thank you Martin and don.

Yes I have got worried that it might be too good to be true.

I will ask my electrician to test it first.

To check my understanding: If my kitchen fitter cuts a hole for this particular hob (it looks 600, I can’t check it right now), and if that hob doesn’t work, will that hole fit easily another hob?
