Take the condensor out and put your hand in to the back and there are channels that drain the water down the duct into the sump.
Usually the channels and the drain hole to the sump get blocked with fluff causing the water to back up.
Take the cover off the pump housing too and pull the pump out and clean up the sump.Stick a large cable tie up the drainage hole too.

Its a very common, well documented fault on all Hotpoint/Creda/Indesit T/dryers of this design. 😥

The advice from cessna is spot on, give the elements and stats a good blast with a hairdryer and they should be fine, also make sure the condensor is being cleaned regularly.

or, if no hairdryer to hand, run on high heat for 10 mins with earth disconnected, (you can put a test meter between removed earth & an earthed point to see when the voltage drops to a safe level)
