Moderatorno but the important thing with any appliance is after sales. there is no point buying an appliance where if you break something a spare is difficult to obtain
so look at well known brands but not at old well known brands as a lot of the old ones (Bush Russel hobbs etc) are not what they were and have been taken over
look at main brands zanussi, bosch, beko, tricity, aeg, hoover, hotpoint and whirlpool to name a few. all have solid after sales in place in case of problemsDave

ParticipantHey Don you haven`t by a slim chance got any vested interest in Liebherr have you?
The spares are a complete rip off or obsolete. e.g. lower freezer draw front £138, freezer evaporator sensor a snip at £173, a freezer draw £161, another frz draw £211, door handle kit at £173, a hinge piston £221, a Rnco t/stat £119, a fridge freezer t/stat a whizz @ £327. Come off it! All parts prices via Partmaster as read on 24/09/2020 as this is where Joe Public would most likely go to get fleeced.September 26, 2020 at 4:06 pm #471096don
ModeratorI have no vested interest in Liebherr. Having been an appliance retailer and sales tech for over fifty years I like to think I know a thing or two when it comes to which appliances are best in terms of build and reliability.
Trade engineers and retailers have direct accounts and yes while the price of spares is higher than most those above are for the public domain. Also bear in mind the older the product the higher the spare prices tend to be, which is the same for all manufacturers.

Moderatorwhat you have to remember about spares is they are not expensive if you dont need them.
you have to decide if you want a cheap model with cheap spares but things will break often or one with expensive spares but you seldom need them
Also Liebherr make all the fridges for Miele as far as i know and they are known for quality
