I recently supplied a washer dryer to a client who, on the advice of a plumber who installed the necessary plumbing, wanted it in her conservatory. The conservatory was old, stone floor, brick walled, single glazing with single corrugated plastic roofing. I advised the client that this was not an ideal installation and that further measures should be taken to ensure both her safety and the well being of the new machine. This included: lagging of pipework that the plumber had failed to undertake and insulated enclosure of the appliance to protect it from the elements.
It was fortunate that the client could see where I was coming from and agreed that although it was lovely during the summer, the conservatory did drop below freezing during the winter. The client duely arranged an appointment with a Local Joiner to encapsulate and insulate the machine at a very reasonable price and thanked me very enthusiastically.
Having experienced several problems with conservatory installations during winter periods I found this an absolute joy! 😀

Secondary thought, perhaps this should have been posted in public forum.

    Re: Conservatory Installation

One of the biggest problems I get with machines installed in similar places is early door seal failure due to ultra violet light damage.

The only problem I have with regard to the conservatory is when the B******* break in through the window & nick my 3 month old LCD HD TV.
