I have an old fridge that I want to use for storing beer! It can’t maintain a high enough temperature, so I want to install a SPDT capillary thermostat. Is that a reasonable job for a DIYer? Will there be any pitfalls? Any advice (except give up drinking) gratefully recieved.

John – If you want to do it right, get hold of an air stat from either Dean and Wood or HRP and fit it. You can set it up manually to the temperature that you want and off you go. If you want more info give me a pm and Ill talk you through the fitting. Cheers

bonzaco, thanks very much for your offer of help with an air stat. Unfortunatly, I’ve just won this ebay auction:

Even though it was only £2.90, I feel inclined to try this now I’ve bought it! I hope it comes with instructions!
