KeymasterCan anyone please recommend a good value for money (i.e. cheap!) integral dishwasher? Needs to be 600mm wide opening and to which a matching kitchen cupboard door can be fixed.
Thanks

Why cheap Phil ?
If you buy cheap you’ll inevitably incur problems in a very short period and be faced with replacing the unit again more than likely 😉
If you up your price range a little and buy something of a reasonable quality you’ll have many happy and trouble free years of dishwashing 😀
I don’t know your budget but look at Bosch/Neff/Siemens (all the same product essentially), Electrolux/Zannussi are OK and Whirlpool not too bad.
You’ll need to know which door size as well as there are two types, semi integrated where you can see the control panel or fully which has a full length door.
Expect to pay between £400-£500 for something that may last a while.

Yes Dave,
I suppose you’re right. It’s just the thought of paying out £400-£500 of unexpected expenditure. The cheapest fully integrated I’ve seen so far is the KENWOOD KDW24FI in Currys at £269. However I not from Kenwood’s web site that they don’t seem to sell dishwashers anymore (?!?!) and some customer reviews seemed fairly disparaging awell.
Apart from that, most others seem to be nearer £400 or more so from what I have seen my choice is extremely limited anyway at the bottom price range.
Is that right?

I have a load of 18 month old cheap and nasty integrated dishwashers awaiting disposal that are beyond economical repair by cost. Go for the quality!

Yep, it is to be honest. Most “budget” manufacturers stick with the freestanding market as they sell a lot more, that’s the only way they can make a buck I guess – high turnover 😉
The thing to add up is that two “cheap” one’s will last 10 years or so if you’re lucky, whereas one decent one will probably outlast both, long term investment and all that 😀
Another thing to bear in mind is the quality of the wash itself of course, low budgets and cheap appliances mean that there is little left aside for for development and making sure the thing actually achieves a decent performance level.
Preach over 😆
Dave.
