    Hi,

I only ever normally do a like for like fitting if asked to replace intergrated appliances.

However, I need to to replace an integrated H122cm fridge that currently has a door slider system.

Q1 Could I replace it with a door on door appliance (giving me a far greater choice of available appliances)?

Q2 Does the design of the kitchen unit door affect things?? I suspect it will in this case as they are handless doors – the door “handle” is incorporated in the design of the door. (door width??)

The kitchen is ultimatley going to be updated and replaced to match the new utility room so I need to get it right. Your help is much appreciated to keep the Mrs off me back. Any suggestion welcome. (polite ones of course 🙂

    Hi Steve

From what I can gather it`s all in the hinge. If you change to the traditional sort the hinges are larger and will stand proud, so it looks like a slider replacement appliance.

If you want I can have a hunt around for you to see what would be a reasonable deal 😉

I was looking at a Leibherr IS2420, Neff K5624X7 or Seimans KI24RA50GB – I’ve been offered a Gorneje RI4225W which comes with a 5Yr warranty. The others I believe are 2 year warranties.

    Thanks Steve

Youv`e done all the work then steve 😆 that would have been my list. It now comes down now to how much you want to spend, the Liebherr would always be my first choice though 😉 the others are worthy machines to be fair.

Hi Don, Went for a Door on door in the end after being assured by a local supplier (that I use quite a bit) that it would fit even with the handless doors. (more choice of door on doors)

I got an Ik2410 in the end. Couldn’t really push it much further cost wise. I struggled to persuade the boss that it was worth the extra money for a Liebherr.

Well……What can I say ?… The word quality is not enough. I used to be able to lift the old Baumatic in and out myself regularly. I could not cope with the Liebherr, definately a two man lift. Had to have new woodwork in the base of the work unit to support the weight. (it was in a pretty bad state from compressor tray spillage from the old one…

Just so quiet, so cool and cooled down so quickly. Hugh evaporator plate at the back. The Baumatic had 14g and the Liebherr has 48g of refrigerant. I know it’s no just the quantity of gas etc etc…..

The boss is so pleased I even got some bottles of ales on the Friday shop, normally only a Christmas shopping job. The new Franke sink and tap also probably helped. Two new top quality kitichen appliances in the same day, just short of £1K.

Now Liebherr fridge to compliment the Liebherr freezer. Next target, ISE 10… 😀 😀 😀 😀

So long story short – slider door to door on door should be ok and Liebherr are the dogs gonads and the Tangle Foot is great

    Thanks for the help Steve
