on a google search the fault come up as

In some Bosch washer/dryer models, an E12 error code can indicate a problem with the communication between the control board and the dryer heater sensor.

all this could mean is a faulty sensor or a broken wire

Did changing the pump quieten it down? The drain hose on these machines has a nasty habit of blocking at its internal elbow. I haven’t yet managed to clear one due to the shaping and internal diameter changes, so I just change the drain hose.
these are Smeg machines, and the Smeg parts through Aswo are way cheaper than the Bosch labelled identical parts.

we all get days like that lol

almost did a similar thing yesterday. had a dead Beko washer dryer thought D7 failure. undid screws on board and upended machine. was just about to remove board when I thought ” wonder if the socket is live”. Well it wasn’t, the clien did not know the bank of 4 switches controllled various appliances around the kitchen and the switch was off
eventual fault was a button and lint at the sink end of the outlet
came out the job to a parking fine as the ticket had fallen off the dash. have appealed but if i fail its only £25 and its liverpool council so am not fighting a private parking pirate
