Guys I would appreciate some advice.

We have had a Whirlpool washer fail in less than 12 months. Unfortunately it is abroard, so not warrentied and I cannot fix it. Already replaced the control unit at a cost of £175.

Whirlpool are absolutely shite when it comes to customer support and with help on spares.

So which manufacturer is any better?

The only way we can solve this now is to buy another new machine and ship it. So it has to be reliable, good source of spares and with manuals available.

So you can my problem 😆 😆 😆

Oh yes Colin we “can your problem” and I recall the background to it. With integrated appliances therein lies an inherent problem especially now as there isn’t a single one that provides all you seek. Too bad that in Barbados you still want integrated where the perfect solution would be to go local and buy American. Bigger, better, cheaper and fixable from a local source.

Buy UK sourced integrated and choose Bosch or Neff and it’s actually a Smeg. Buy Miele and you’ve one hell of a good machine there but if it goes wrong you may wish you’d simply bought another Whirlpool instead. Buy Baumatic and it will collapse the moment you get it out the packing. AEG or Zanussi may well be your best best and ticks a lot more boxes for you I would say. The rest is down to just sheer luck. 😀

    Hi

I think you have answered part of your question in an earlier post 😉 🙂

That aside no supplier here in the UK will part with any service info unless you are an agent. So from that angle I would be looking at Bosch or Neff to export for better reliability and use this site for any further help or assistance should it be required from the guys on here. Dave in the UKW shop can ship spares out to you from spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should it be required.

From previous experience of consumers exporting machines from the UK you will not have any warranty provision on any UK designated appliance abroad either.

I know appliances cost more in Barbados but If it were me I would still be making my purchase locally so I have the the peace of mind should any service be needed. Only problem is I don’t know if you can get integrated ones though.

    HTH 🙂

I don’t think so either Don. They all opt for front loading LG’s or Whirlpools and top loading GE’s all of which come from over here in good old USA. 😀

Thanks Martin, so you can my problem, what was that all about?

It should have been can you solve my problem!

Only thing available in Barbados is Smeg, but no stock, should get delivery before Christmas, $5500 bds!!! Exchange 3:1.

    Not acceptable!!

Cannot do anything other than integrated as kitchen is fully fitted at great expense, and the American units are wider than 600.

What do you reckon to Indesit?

Don I appreciate what you say about warranty, and obviously we have to live with that.

I am reasonably practical, but Whirlpool are worse than useless when it comes to customer care. And the guys on the forum cannot help.

More and more machines are fully electronic and I guess you need a laptop to diagnose faults.

And that is progress :rolls: :rolls:

    Worse than Whirlpool 😥

I’d still go with Bosch or Neff.
