Can anybody tell me if it would be possible to swap the pump chamber over from an FDW60 motor (C00080512) to this one ?
The motors look same size according to all the pics I’ve looked at, though I’d have to have them in my hand to be sure.

Not sure Mike, pump chamber is available a a spare and I have not seen any Indesit/Hotpoint motors that vary in physical size.

Think I’ll put a snipe on it then. Probably come in useful one day, whether or not I get to use it on this job.

Great. It should be on its way to me soon. Better ring customer and give her the news. She was expecting to have to have a new motor at £100.

After a long drawn out cack-up by the courier company, the motor finally arrived the other day and I went to fit it last evening.
First thing I noticed was the difference in capacitor size, 5uf vs 4uf. Next, having got FDW60 motor off machine, my suspicions were confirmed that the laminations were shorter on the Indesit. The labels read thus: FDW60 – 75W 0.75A Indesit 120W 0.48A.
Still, I thought, it’s worth a go. Got chamber off and noted length of thread on shaft shorter on Indesit. Did not give up until it became evident that Indesit shaft was thicker and would not take the FDW60 impellor 👿 .
I have instructed my solicitor to persue a claim for lost earnings against loopey 😀 .
Meanwhile, having got motor off, I was able to see the abraded live wire which had been hidden above it and which was probably the main cause of the tripping fault. Motor has stabilised out to around 1.8 megs so once I have obtained the new drain hose required I will return and refit the old motor.
