Went to this job last week on a Hotpoint TD. Checked for Mod all ok
tried Drier heated and worked ok. Introduced damp clothes and within 5 minutes unit trips RCD
turn out the woman, until the week before used to store her soap power in the tumble dryer until some burk turned it on without removing it. end result soap power all in the condensor filters etc. Am assuming that the powder would contain salt as a softner which had powder coated the element. When damp it conducted to earth and blew RCD
element swop all ok now
