Is there any way to test the inverter circuit if you have a duff magnetron? With the old transformer type circuits you can check transformer primary, HT and heater windings, capacitor, diodes etc with the meter, to make sure only the magnetron is required. I have a combi machine in for repair and the magnetron is visibly damaged but I don’t want to order a new one only to find there is damage to the HT supply circuit. I did have a few spare magnetrons but it looks like I must have binned them.

    Re: Inverter microwaves

Usually the fuse blows if the inverter is at all damaged. As far as i’m aware, Inverter type mags and transformer mags are not interchangable. These inverter systems are a strange beast, i have replaced a mag that was clearly faulty (antenna burnt and magnets cracked) worked fine for a few weeks and then the board fails. 😕
Again, Microwave voltages and no way to test it.
I have some information on Panasonic ones and how to test components on the boards but have no idea on how to post it??
    Steve 🙂

Don’t post the manufacturers info – they don’t like it. Forward it to admin or one of the mods and we’ll “re-write” it………

Thanks Steve, I will send you a PM. I think it is a Panasonic but it was purchased in Hong Kong and is Branded National. Model Number is NN-C2000P.

Thanks again for the info. Steve. I did the resistance checks on the board and confirmed I just needed a magnetron, now fitted and working 🙂
