Thanks for your time Dave. With the risk of being cheeky do you know much about washing machines? My other of many gems is that the fitter left the transit bolts on my machine which i ran through a ‘service’ wash whilst i was out, then a wash with clothes in before the machine sounded like it was spinning clogs. The fitter came and removed the bolts and after ive told him I’m not happy as he may have damaged the machine, he has denied all knowledge the bolts were in. I think I may have to get a 3rd party to write a report to say its damaged but that will obviously cost me and I’m not sure if an engineer can tell if there’s damage caused by bolts or not. If they can’t there’s no point getting anyone out and it will be my word against his. If you have any knowledge I’d be grateful!

really depends on the load that was in

light load should not cause much damage

cant say if its done any damage but its unlikely unless it was a heavy load

have you got the bolts that came out, if yes are they straight or bent ?

Not surprisingly they took the bolts with them. It looked like it had damaged a leg or at least done something because the machine was tilted to one side enough that the door (integrated) wouldn’t shut as it was obviously attached to the machine and therefore also on the tilt.

thats not a problem all legs and door position are adjustable. I have to re adjust every time it take them out for repair

to find if there is any damage you would have to slide the machine out and inspect the metal of the case where the bolts have been

where did this fitter come from ?

A local company. They’ve sacked the guy who spent weeks messing up but not before he’d messed up my kitchen. Just really disappointed that its turned out like this and annoyed with myself for giving them so many chances when i knew things weren’t being done properly. He’s now told me the washing machine bolts were removed (which they weren’t) but the pegs were left in. Can’t find any mention of pegs in the installation guide so don’t know what this means – is there such a thing??
