ParticipantHi,
I have just had a NEFF oven (B57CR22N0B) and Microwave/Oven (C17MR02N0B) fitted by a kitchen fitter one on top of the other into a Wren housing unit. My neighbour has exactly the same. Whereas hers looks neat and well fitted with a central gap just big enough for the microwave door to pull down properly, mine has gaps inbetween and at the bottom, and having had numerous other problems with the fitter I am questioning if it is fitted correctly. I have got nowhere with Neff and cannot find any picture to confirm my suspicions beyond how my neighbours looks.
If anyone can give their thoughts I’d be obliged, I have pictures but I can’t get them small enough (19.5kb) to upload which i didn’t realise until now so maybe you won’t be able to give me pictures either 🙁
thank youAugust 4, 2021 at 10:56 am #478319electrofix

I’m hoping this works to a folder with 3 pics inAugust 4, 2021 at 7:44 pm #478321electrofix
Moderatorto be honest its pretty simple to cure and dont know why the fitter did not do it
take oven out and add a spacer undeneath (strips of thin ply or hardboard) to raise the oven. gap at bottom will be bigger but less visible
you can see the trims are in contact next door

ParticipantThanks for the reply Dave, I think the answer is either laziness and/or stupidity given the host of issues. My neighbour seems to have a black ledge/bar underneath her lower oven, maybe thats how theirs has been done. As I’m obviously not a fitter myself, do you think it would be reasonable of me to expect it to look fitted without the gap and ask for it to be done this way? He’s obviously told me theres nothing wrong with it and I’ve found it impossible via Neff to prove otherwise,

Moderatori would think Neff design it so the side trims line up
you could pop into wren kitchens and see if they have a similar setup and look how that is installed. After all they would want it a1 in the showroom

ParticipantHa, ahead of you at least on that one. I tried at my local Wren but all the Neff appliances were either side by side or only single oven. I asked one of the sales guys but he didn’t convince me he knew enough to take on the fitter with confidence. But good advice nonetheless! thanks

ParticipantI have yes but to be honest it confused me more. You buy these strips, about £157 (ouch) to give the seamless look but it made me wonder if the trims weren’t designed to be together after watching this. My neighbours looks pretty much like it with the slight horizontal line where they join but I couldn’t see the point in £157 to make it look very slightly better. This video seems to show the ovens apart unless you buy the strip. I just can’t believe its so difficult to confirm.

Moderatorthe trims are more than that. your housing has a shelf. the trims allow you to use a housing without a shelf and stack the units. If you look at the video it shows the installation of a bracket to sit the units on top of each other

ParticipantOK yes I see. But that makes it seem to me that my installation is ‘normal’. I just don’t get how my neighbours have managed to get a neat look as i know they didn’t have the seamless kit..
I appreciate your comments

ParticipantI’ve posted another pic on the drive. It shows the 2 ovens in the housing but its probably not clear enough for you to work it out unfortunately.

ModeratorNo cant see
was wondering what the bottom of the main oven was like. Have they raised it to close the gapas i said its not difficult to make it look better. Seen so many appliances installed badly by fitters who dont give a stuff
dishwasher doors are common, throw away the door fitting kit and use normal wood screws that rust and then use a power driver to bend the metal by screwing it too tight
