    Hello all,
Just moved into my new house but the sellers took the Smeg cooker with them leaving an inviting 70cm gap.

When looking to buy a new cooker, I can’t understand why the 70cm Smeg model is SO much more expensive than the 60cm model. I presume the A series is posher than the SUK series, but over £300 difference is a lot for 10cm.

    Eg
    Smeg SUK62 60cm Approx £779

    Smeg A42 70cm £1105

Is the A42 worth it? Or is it worth getting the smaller one and refitting the kitchen around it, or going leftfield and saying sod it to Smeg and getting a Baumatic instead?

    Baumatic BT2396 £571 – Half the price!

Would love to hear some advice from all you clever souls.

    Thanks

Buy the Smeg and forget the Baumatic, there’s a reason it’s half the price. 😉

The 70cm is probably more expensive largely due to lower demand = lower volumes = higher prices. Apart from which it is a bit nicer IMO.

    K.
