Just going to buy a new washing machine. Pretty sure a Bosch up to about £600.

Almost all in the range are WGG, which I read here (and elsewhere) are sealed tub and brushless motor. So, bad and good. The ones claimed to be not sealed tub are the old WAN line, so I looked at the WAN28250GB as the noise and warranty specs suggest a brushless motor to me.

But the schematics for the WAN28250GB (https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/supportdetail/product/WAN28250GB/64#/Tabs=section-spareparts/ ) and WGG04409GB (https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/supportdetail/product/WGG04409GB/64#/Tabs=section-spareparts/) look to have identical one piece tubs to me. Plus identical motors.

Is there anyone technically minded that can tell one way or another please?

    Thanks.

    Thanks Dave. Much appreciated.

So, does that mean the WAN28282GB would be repairable (bearings, whatnot) but the WAN28250GB and WGGs not?

I’m not fussed about 8kg vs 9kg vs 10g etc or fancy functions as the old Bosch being replaced is a mid 2000s Classixx that was just 6kg and perfectly good enough. I’d actually get it repaired except I was told the motor has blown and so it isn’t economic.

you might find a good used motor on Ebay

with a new sealed tub at just under £300 no one is ever going to repair

with the non sealed it is possible to do a bearing swop but you need a kit to put the drum back together as you have to break clips to seperate it

This might be a bit clearer, The WAN28250GB/01 has a sealed tank, and a Chinese made made brushless motor.
The WGG04409GB/01 has the same tank and same motor. The sealed tank is £255.38.
The WAN28282GB/38 (there are only 2 versions listed and there are no parts listed for a /01): this has a separate rear half tank which comes with the new bearings and oil seal prefitted and is £188.20, the front half of the tank is £79.70 and the tank seal and screws kit is £5.83. This also has a brushless motor but its not the same part as the two models as above.

NOTICE TOO. I based this on with the wan and the wgg models as above both as /01 versions. There are other versions listed when you look those model WAN28259GB/?? and WGG04409GB/?? which MIGHT be different to the /01. I will not have time to check every single /?? number but you might. I only mention this because I got caught out once and PRESUMED they were all the same (different models to what you mention as above though) so U check just incase.UPDATE I just check something you need to know, the plot thickens, if you look up WGG04409GB/60 the preprogrammed inverter pcboard is listed at £221.48 ( which is bad enough!), however if you were to get the WGG04409GB/01 the preprogrammed inverter pcb is, wait for it…..is listed at £429.94 (i.e. Bosch in fleecing mode!!!). You want to be mega careful there what you buy Trouble is in the advrts they usually just give the model numbers without the /?? number so you caould drop yourself in the clag there..

You should also know that there are other models, usually their very pricey contraptions that also have a separate tank parts but cost a packet that I have stumbled upon where the parts are not those as used on the WAN28282GB/38. Also there are pricey models that have sealed tanks too, came across a 800 quid Bosch once. But I do not remember/know what those model numbers are now.So all good fun and games, all very Bosch!
