I have a Bosch single oven HBS534B approx one year old. When selecting the conventional oven setting (Icon with solid bar top and btm) I have noticed the grill coming on. This has resulted in burning food that doesn’t want to be grilled or toasted.
Is this correct? I called Bosch and the lady on the desk said the top element is the grill. If so why doesn’t the icon have the wavy grill symbol at the top?
Is this a cost saving device as I’m sure this didn’t happen on my previous Candy model?
I had always assumed that the top oven element was hidden as with the bottom one, am I right or wrong.
Also I’m sure this has just started occurring in the last few weeks, but I cant be sure.
Example: my wife often cooks scones with no problems, last week she noticed they were burnt on top, thus the investigation.
Thanks for any help [IMG2=JSON]{“data-align”:”none”,”data-size”:”full”,”src”:”https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forums/core/core/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif”}[/IMG2]
The top element is a combined grill and upper heating element, as is the case with most but normally you’d expect just the outer part of it to heat when on a convection oven setting and not to have any infrared heating going on, so it’d not “glow”.
