Participanti have just moved into a house i recently bought and the previous owners left a washer dryer with the house, a hoover performa wa110, it is in great condition but i noticed when it fills up the water stops just below the lip of the drum, the manual shows a diagram of the water filling a third of the way up the glass door, what is the correct fill level for these machines, also it seems to take over 2 hours to dry a full load, do these machines just not dry very well and that is why the dry times are so high.
it is convienient for me to have a washer dryer to save space as opposed to 2 appliances, is the new washer dryers any better at drying and worht buying r are thaey all poor at drying.
i am a single man so not a lot of washing/drying needed i just think this machine i have takes far too long to dry and the fill level looks a bit low.
should i keep the wa110 as a washer and get a seperate dryer or should i consider a new washer dryer

It’s too late to type it all out again, so:

many thanks for the reply
would it be a good idea to get a tumble dryer and put it out in the garage and just use the machine i have as a washer.
if i put a tumble dryer in the garage do i still need a hose vented outside or can i just let it blow steam into the garage?
does the fill level of my machine seem about right, looks odd when washing and hardly any water splashing about because the garments have soaked it all up.

The wash water level on a WA110 is below the door seal, even allowing for what is absorbed into the wash load. From memory there’s a bit more in for rinse, but unless you select the wool programme you won’t see much water.
Tumble dryer in the garage? Generally a cold place so vented steam will condense almost immediately. If the garage is empty it won’t matter, if you keep tools and gardening stuff in it a vent-out arrangement would be a good idea – or a condensing dryer. The blower type is simpler and a “Through the wall kit” will generally cost less than £20, although you do face the fun of fitting it.
