ModeratorOdd one this for sure.
1607 about six years old.Initial complaint of machine starting to wash and then stopping all action leaving clothes wet, no error codes displayed.
I called last week and first of all set the machine to spin which it performed perfectly. Then set it to wash, it filled and started to do a wash action so I cancelled it and drained.
Decided to try it fully loaded so it was filled with clothes and set on a 38 minute, Quick Wash. Customer expected it to cut out within a minute or so after starting but it didn’t.
It counted down to 28 minutes, tumbling perfectly. I then noticed the display and all lights flicker for a split second. Then the display went back to 38 minutes and the machine stopped totally.
By switching off and on and resetting I was able to get it to drain out but couldn’t seem to get it to do anything correctly so did a ‘total reset’
It now appeared to be registering the different settings correctly so I set it to the 38 minute quick wash once again.
This time it completed the full wash, rinse and spin cycle perfectly. The only thing I did notice was that on a couple of occasions all the lights flickered very briefly. This appeared to coincide with a change in the cycle, say from wash to drain etc.
I meggered everything and got perfect insulation readings all round.Customer has just phoned this morning to say that it worked for a couple of washes but has now gone off again.?????
Anyone else seen this or have any suggestions?
Jim.

Not seen that Jim.
The random nature of it though would tend to make you think it was something making/breaking or a dodgy connection to something causing it as a failed component would do it all the time.

Great minds think alike, those are the areas I intended to look at first on next visit Tim. Will update if I find anything.

Thinking back wasn’t there a tech bulletin or memo about a suppressor change not long after the 10 went on sale?

Never really did get to the bottom of it. The fact that it sometimes worked and at other times failed totally made it difficult to pin down. Also the fact that I couldn’t get the diagnostics to run correctly didn’t help. In the end even the reset failed to have any effect and due to the ongoing problems due to the demise of ISE with no access to under guarantee spares the customer decided she had had enough. 🙁
